Greenville Lions Club: at the Cotton Fair

Chartered in 1977, the Greenville Lions Club (GLC) has been a steady force for good in the community for more than 36 years. With 30 dedicated members, the club focuses on serving those in need and creating opportunities that make a lasting impact.

One of their biggest annual fundraisers is their peanut sales booth at the Cotton Fair. Visitors look forward to grabbing a bag of fresh, delicious peanuts, knowing the proceeds go directly back into programs that benefit local residents.

The Greenville Lions Club supports a wide range of initiatives throughout the year, including:

  • Providing eye exams, glasses, and vision screenings for children using the Spot Vision Screener

  • Supporting Leader Dog programs for the blind

  • Hosting diabetic education programs and supporting Camp Kudzu

  • Partnering with Habitat for Humanity on local projects

  • Sponsoring a football team dinner to encourage youth involvement

  • Offering scholarships for college-bound students

  • Funding a relief budget to assist families in crisis

  • Supplying food pantries and providing snacks and meals for children to take home

  • Organizing blood drives and clothing collections

  • Supporting the Empty Stocking Fund to help families during the holidays

Each of these efforts represents the club’s commitment to living out their mission of service.

When you stop by their booth at the Cotton Fair this year and pick up a bag of peanuts, you are helping the Greenville Lions Club continue this important work. Every purchase supports vision care, youth programs, community aid, and so much more.

There will be an eyeglasses donation box at the booth!
